• The Chhathi Ceremony is a time for the community to come together and offer blessings and prayers for the well-being of the child.
• On the sixth day after the birth of the child, this ritual is known as Chatthi Pooja and is performed on the sixth day after the birth of the child “Chaththi Na Lekh.
• On the sixth day, Vidhata (goddess of fate) will quietly enter the house around midnight to write the fate of the newborn. Traditionally, the mother of the new-born child lights a lamp (diya).
• To write the future of the new-born, a race pen is placed on a lamp and a wooden blank for divination.
