- On the sixth day, Vidhata (goddess of fate) will quietly enter the house around midnight to write the fate of the newborn. Traditionally, the mother of the new-born child lights a lamp (diya). To write the future of the new-born, a race pen is placed on a lamp and a wooden blank for divination.
